june meetings

We've gone all arty and earthy. Our next evening meeting at 8pm on
16th June 2009 will be a life drawing class. No need to bring your pencils or paintbrushes- all will be supplied on the night. Do bring a bottle of wine to share if you have one spare though and home made nibbles are always welcome. Usual place - Chisenhale Gallery.

Our June coffee morning will be on Friday 26th June at 10.30 am at the Frizzante cafe at Hackney City Farm at Goldsmith's Row, map here.

Come and make it a hen party.

EEWI @ Whitechapel Art Gallery

Our May coffee morning was at the beautifully refurbished Whitechapel Art Gallery. Welcomed by the charming and helpful cafe staff, there was much interest in our scoring of their home made brownies, unanimously voted as the most delicious cakey offering (9/10). All this and the bonus of Goshka Macuga's installation with the beautiful and moving tapestry of Picasso's Guernica.

Thanks, Whitechapel. We hope you'll have us back again.

our history

EEWI was formed in 2007 by Niki Stevens, our President and a group of friends and local women. Having seen the movie Calendar girls and the comedy series Jam and Jerusalem Niki started to think about what was going on in her local area for women. A WI branch seemed like a place where all local women, from different cultural backgrounds, class, age and ability could meet. So here we are...

welcome to EEWI

East End WI has been running now for over 10 years and welcomes all women to share, learn and enjoy good company. We normally meet twice a month.

EEWI meets twice a month. Our evening meeting is usually the third Tuesday of each month at St Margaret's House 7pm for a 7.30pm start
St. Margaret's House Hall, 21 Old Ford Road Bethnal Green E2 9PL
Entry to our new home is through the garden. Enter via the gate to the left of the Gallery Cafe and walk around to the garden - you will see us in the hall which is behind the Gallery Cafe, free for members £4 suggested donation for visitors. There is a donations tin for refreshments.

All welcome so if you have never been before and you would like to see what we are all about please do come along.
